The Homegrown Music Festival is a week long event that takes place in the spring. The festival showcases over 100 local rock bands at various venues throughout the city. Most of the performances take place at night in Duluth bars.

The Duluth Air And Aviation Expo is a three-day event that includes a one-day expo featuring vendors and two days of air show performances. The main attraction is the performance of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. Individual adult, individual youth and family passes are available. The family pass provides a discount for a family of four. All day passes include free parking.

Held in Bayfront Park, next to the Great Lakes Aquarium, this is a three-day event held each summer. The festival has two stages: an acoustic stage and Leinenkugel's stage. Performances begin around noon each day and last until after 10 p.m. The festival offers daily entrance tickets or a three-day pass.

The NorthShore Inline Marathon attracts over 4,000 inline skaters each year. The marathon starts south of Two Harbors and continues for 26.2 miles along Highway 61, ending at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. A skate and fitness expo is held the same day at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

The two-day Dragon Boat Festival features a dragon boat race, live music and vendors selling food and crafts. Boats race on Superior Bay between Barkers Island and the shore. Teams pay to enter the race, which is a fundraiser for the Harbortown and Superior Rotary Clubs. The festival begins on Friday with live music; and the race takes place on Saturday.
