Events in Fenton, Michigan

Fenton, located off I-75 in southeastern Michigan, has a history as an early 19th century settlement which developed into an important Michigan center of commerce and transportation. The town is within an hour’s drive of Ann Arbor, Flint, Lansing and Detroit. Fenton and nearby localities host numerous enjoyable events and festivals.

  1. AppleFest

    • St. John’s Parish in Fenton hosts an autumn AppleFest highlighting the abundance of apple orchards in the area. The festival includes music, games, a farmer’s market, carnival rides and lots of food and apple-themed edibles. Visitors can join the running or walking races and everyone may participate in the AppleFest auctions and raffles. Area residents donate “Attic Treasures” for purchase with the proceeds of all profits from the AppleFest going to support St. John’s Parish and its projects and programs.

    Fenton Freedom Festival

    • The approach of Independence Day in Fenton signals the arrival of the Fenton Freedom Festival. The festival begins on the evening of July 3rd with evening kick-off activities and moves on to a July 4th parade through the center of town. Other events taking place throughout the day include the American Legion’s pancake breakfast, an Ecumenical Sunrise Service, a games tent for children, dancing and music performances and plenty of food and drink.

    Jinglefest

    • Fenton residents preparing for the Christmas holidays can join together for Fenton’s annual Jinglefest. In partnership with the Southern Lakes Parks and Recreation, the Fenton Chamber of Commerce organizes the Jinglefest, a 2-day event held three weeks before Christmas. The festival includes a talent show for middle and high school students on the first day (Friday), followed by the second day of the festival (Saturday) of ice sculptures, shopping, a Christmas market and entertainment. The festival ends on Saturday night with a parade.

    Brighton Fine Arts Festival

    • The Brighton Fine Arts Festival in Brighton, a 10-minute drive from Fenton, showcases the works of more than 70 artists. Artists showcase their artwork to collectors and other visitors who may wish to purchase some of the works. The Brighton Fine Arts Festival takes place during August.
