Taylor, Michigan, is located in the downriver area of Detroit. The city is situated near lakes Erie and St Clair, and is intersected by I-94 and I-75. Heritage Park, called the "jewel of the city," hosts various annual events, including many in the fall.
  1. Art Festival

    • The Taylor Fall Festival of the Arts combines the former Taylor Fall Fest and summertime Art in the Park Festival into one event. The 2011 festival is scheduled for October 2 and 3 at Heritage Park. The event features works by 40 artists, live bands, a talent show and cooking and baking contests for different age groups.

    Halloween Fall Fest

    • Halloween Fall Fest takes place at Heritage Park a week before Halloween. Children can go on tractor rides along the park, see scarecrows and other figurines, and paint pumpkins. There are also arts and crafts for children, and they can learn about safety from police and firefighters.

    Scarecrow Festival

    • The Scarecrow Festival is nearby Trenton, Michigan, takes place during the fall, and features a scarecrow contest, carnival rides, on-site animal adoption, pony rides, singing contest, fashion shows and other activities. All contests during this festival raise money for charity and support non-profit organizations.

    Golf Outing

    • The Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry, a non-profit organization, hosts numerous events, including an annual golf outing. It is held every September at the Lakes of Taylor golf course. The outing includes breakfast, lunch, 18 holes of golf and a photo of players and their golfing partners. The outing welcomes anyone who wants to donate to families in need.
