Mexico comes from Nahuatl language and it comes from the word _"Mēxihco"_, composed by Mēxih which can be translated as "people of the moon"_ or "in the navel of the moon"_.
The second part, _-co_ is a suffix used to indicate location, thus the whole name can be translated as "Place of Mēxihco"_.
