What age do children go to school in Honduras?

Children in Honduras are required by law to attend nine years of education, although the compulsory school age varies from region to region. In general, children entering first grade must be six years old by January 1st of that year. While public education is free, many children attend private schools, particularly at the secondary level, because parents believe that they offer a better quality of education.
