Saturday Night Clubs in NYC

New York City is "the city that never sleeps," and Saturday nights are certainly no exception. There are clubs located all over the city that cater to specific audiences and crowds. Dance clubs, comedy clubs, live music clubs, lounges and more are all available to residents and visitors of New York City on a Saturday night.
  1. The 40/40 Club‎

    • The 40/40 Club‎ is a popular club and lounge owned by hip-hop mogul Jay-Z. The club is a sports club, showing all the big games on a variety of flat screen TVs, but is also a night club after the games are over. The club is 12,000 square feet of different rooms, lounges, VIP areas, bars and dance floors. The club serves dinner from a menu that is typical of a sports bar but prepared and presented with a bit more elegance than most other sports bars. Private parties are available in any of the VIP or private rooms. The club is open six night a week from 6:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. and is closed on Tuesdays. Expect dance floor friendly DJs and music on Saturday nights.

    Blue Note Jazz Club‎

    • The Blue Note Jazz Club is one of the country's most famous jazz clubs. The world's finest jazz musicians and ensembles play the club regularly, and have been since the club opened in 1981. Legendary jazz artists often set up residencies at the club, performing once or twice a night for a week or more. On Saturdays, the club has an 8:30 p.m. show, a 10:30 p.m. show, and a late night "groove" show that begins at 12:30 a.m. and lasts until the wee hours of the morning. In case Saturday night was not enough, they also offer a Sunday jazz brunch . Check the website for the entire show schedule; there is usually at least one or two performances every night of the week.

    Mercury Lounge‎

    • The Mercury Lounge‎ is part of a larger umbrella of clubs operated by "The Bowery Presents" entertainment company, that also includes The Bowery Ballroom, Terminal 5, the Wellmont Theater, and others. The Mercury Lounge is a live music club, hosting various bands and DJs from all over the country on a nightly basis. Tickets usually start at $8 and get more expensive depending on who is playing. The club usually has an early show at 7:30 p.m. and a late show (a different artist) at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday nights. All shows are 21 and over unless otherwise noted on the venue website. Most tickets can be purchased online directly from the website.
