Bali Night Clubs

The fabled island of Bali offers entertainment for all tastes. Known for its unique brand of Hinduism, Bali also has plenty of nightspots around the island that attract Western club enthusiasts. While most nightclubs are located in the south of Bali, especially the three villages of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak, a few well-known clubs are nestled away in other tourist areas on the island. Legal drinking age in Indonesia is generally thought to be 21, although some believe that it is 18. Dress codes are all but unknown in Bali.
  1. Jazz Cafe Bali

    • The Jazz Cafe located in the Ubud, the cultural heartland of Bali, is about an hour from the main tourist area of Kuta-Legian-Seminyak. Ubud was voted the top Asian city destination by Conde Nast Traveler readers in 2009. While Ubud is known more for its traditional Balinese music form, gamelan, the Jazz Cafe has become a big draw. The Cafe offers dining, drinks, music and dancing. As with most clubs on the island, there is no stated dress code, although your best bet here is casual chic; this venue draws a mix of locals, expatriates and tourists.

The Jazz Cafe is open every day except Monday from 5 p.m. until midnight. Live performances start at 7:30 p.m. and run until 10:30 p.m. The Jazz Cafe has a cover charge of approximately $2 per person. Music spans the spectrum of jazz, Latin, rhythm and blues, funk and World music. Reservations are recommended. The Cafe has free pickup service from Ubud area hotels.
