Book a stay with a host family in Mexico. There are host families in many areas of the country, including Mexico City, the Yucatan and Veracruz, who welcome Spanish language students. This provides a more intimate experience than a hotel, and you will pick up local idioms and language differences from the hosts.
Enroll in a Spanish language learning course. You can find numerous Spanish language programs designed for English speakers in Mexico. In most cases, the majority of the classroom study is conducted in Spanish. Some programs also offer cultural activities to augment classroom instruction. Courses range from four weeks to several months.
Attend an immersion program. Immersion programs are similar to Spanish language classes, but with a heavier focus on real-world practicality. Students learn Spanish during activities such as cooking, ecotourism and business dealings.
