The Sequoia National Park, spanning more than 400,000 acres, is most famous for, as its name suggests, its giant sequoia trees. There are seven campsites in both high and low elevations, as well as a lodge and a luxury mountain resort. There are numerous all-ages activities that include a campfire program, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hiking, sightseeing tours and horseback riding.
Island Water Park is a fairly large water park with a wide variety of water rides and attractions as well as other sorts of games and activities. The Twin Rivers Vintners of Fresno County is essentially a consortium of Fresno wineries that offer various tours, activities and events. One of these events is the Wine and Chocolate Weekend, taking place at Milla Vineyards, and is aimed more toward adult couples. It takes place yearly the weekend before, during or after Valentine's Day. The event is free, and all you have to do is bring your own wine glass to sample the variety of wines available. There is also a contest for the most unique and festive wine glass.
