Location of Fort Knox

Fort Knox is not in the southeastern US. It is located in Kentucky, which is considered part of the Midwest (East South Central) region. The US Army post sits south of Louisville and north of Elizabethtown, adjacent to the Ohio River. It houses the US Bullion Depository and major Army commands.
