Do tornadoes only form in North America?

Tornadoes can occur on every continent except for Antarctica. Although tornadoes are most commonly associated with the United States, known as Tornado Alley, they can form anywhere in the world given the right atmospheric conditions. For example, tornadoes have been reported in Europe, Asia, Australia, and even South America.

However, it's important to note that the frequency and intensity of tornadoes vary significantly depending on the geographical region. Certain regions, such as the Great Plains of the United States, are particularly prone to tornadoes due to the unique weather patterns and atmospheric conditions that favour their formation.
