Chicago Inside Out is a multi-day tour of Chicago run by WrightWay Travel. Part of the tour takes visitors to buildings in Chicago designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The tour begins at the Unity Temple and then takes visitors along Forest Avenue, stopping at the Frank Thomas house, the Peter Beachy house, the Arthur Heurtley house and then to the Hills-DeCaro house. Tours of the other Wright-designed houses are exterior; only the final stop is a tour of the interior of the house. The tour then proceeds to the Frank Lloyd Wright's own home and studio, taking visitors inside the house to areas not normally open to the general public. Following the tour is a wine and cheese event in the Studio Drafting Room. WrightWay travel is a division of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. Go to WrightWay travel's website to see registration information and to download the registration form.
Only a couple of official guided tours of the Arthur Heurtley house are available through the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. Visitors wishing to simply walk by and view the house from the outside, however, are perfectly welcome. There is plenty of information about the house available from the trust online as well as the house's official site. The Guide to Illinois also offers historical information on the Arthur Heurtley house.
