Trolley Tours in Chicago

Chicago Trolley and Double Decker Co. has been operating for more than 17 years, taking sightseers on tours of the Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier and the Museum Campus as well as throughout some of Chicago's neighborhoods. The company offers different levels of its tours, some lasting only hours while others can be enjoyed over multiple days. Whatever your time constraint, any of the tours will leave you with a lasting impression of the City of Big Shoulders.
  1. Signature Tour

    • Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Company's "Signature Tour" has 15 stops, starting at Millennium Park. The trolley will travel from the park and go north and west to see the Michigan Avenue Bridge and the Theater District. It will take you by Navy Pier and north on Michigan Avenue, past NBC Tower and the Chicago Tribune. It will go as far north at the John Hancock Building and then back south by the Willis Tower. The tour ends at Macy's on State Street.

    North Neighborhood Tour

    • Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Company's "North Neighborhood Tour" is seasonal, and in 2011, is available only from May 28 until Sept. 5. The tour starts at Millennium Park and travels north up LaSalle, where it takes you by the Chicago History Museum and into Lincoln Park on Clark Street. You'll go by the Lincoln Park Zoo, which is free for visitors if you decide to hop off. From the zoo, you will keep heading north into Boystown, and see the Briar Street Theatre, home to the Blue Man Group. The final stop on the trip is in Wrigleyville, at the home of the Chicago Cubs: Wrigley Field.

    West Neighborhood Tour

    • Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Company's "West Neighborhood Tour" is seasonal, and in 2011, is available only from May 28 until Sept. 5. Starting at Millennium Park, the westward tour will take you through Chicago's Chinatown and Little Italy. From there, you'll head by Harpo Studios, home of Oprah -- at least for a little bit longer, as of October 2010. The last stop on the tour is in Greektown, where you can find some of the best gyros in Chicago. Greektown is just north of the University of Illinois at Chicago, so if you're in town looking at schools, this trolley will help you get to know the area UIC is in.

    South Neighborhood Tour

    • Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Company's "South Neighborhood Tour" is seasonal, and in 2011, is available only from May 28 until Sept. 5. This tour leaves Millennium Park and travels down Lake Shore Drive toward Chicago's Hyde Park, home of President Barack Obama. The one other stop on the tour is the Museum of Science and Industry.
