Savannah is a unique coastal town in Georgia. It is the oldest city in Georgia, founded in 1773. The city literally is built on graves and cemeteries. Named "America's most haunted city" by America's Institute of Parapsychology, this town is rich with history dating back to Civil War times. On each tour you will hear different stories of the various lives cut short who have come to haunt this lovely city.
Operated by Old Town Trolley tours you will board the "Trolley of the Doomed" and wander through the historic district of downtown Savannah. There are several tours offered each night with times varying depending on the season. Children under 4 are not permitted. Oglethorpe Tours offers both a "Historic Savannah" as well as a "Haunted Savannah" package. Over approximately 90 minutes, you will be told many stories of the city's ghosts. Open 7 days a week, they offer 7 p.m. tours every day with an additional 9 p.m. tour on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. The tour is $29 for adults and $18 for children aged 5 to 11, as of November 2010. The package offers the "Haunted Savannah" tour as well as a historic tour ticket and admission to the Isaiah Davenport House Museum. Tickets for this package are priced at $51 for adults and $39 for children. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 866-374-8687.
Old Savannah Tours offers three tour options. The first is a 90-minute "Ghostly Nights" trolley tour through the historic district. It departs at nightly at 7 and costs $22 for adults and $9 for children 12 and under, as of November 2010. The second option is the "Ghostly Nights" tour with a tour of the Pirates' House and Cellar. This two-hour tour departs at 9 each night. You will pay $22 per adult and $12 per child 12 and under. The last option is the "Ghostly Nights" tour with dinner at the Pirates' House. The dinner and tour will last approximately two-and-a-half to three hours and begins at 7 p.m. The cost of this tour includes dinner and is $47 for adults and $31 for children. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 800-517-9007.
