  1. Historic Sorrel-Weed House

    • Take a step back in time with a tour of the Historic Sorrel-Weed House. Once the site of lavish Southern parties, this home welcomed the most high-society families of the area, including the Lowes, Habershams, Greens and Gordons as well as General Robert E. Lee. Now, this home continues to stand as a museum showcasing the life and history of early Savannah and its residents. The house is open for tours from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Admission is $10 per person. For those interested in the house's paranormal side, evening Ghost Tours are available. Tours begin at 6:30, 8:30 and 10:15 p.m. Admission for these 90-minute tours is $18 for adults 13 and over and $10 for kids ages 7 to 12. Admission and times are current as of December 2009.

    Old Fort Jackson

    • Old Fort Jackson served to defend Savannah against naval attacks during the Civil War and the beginning of the War of 1812. The fort is the oldest of its kind that remains standing in the entire state of Georgia. Today, the fort is open for visitors to tour, learn and relive its history. Fort hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. It is closed on most major holidays. Hours are current as of December 2009.

    Cobblestone Tours Inc.: Haunted History Tour

    • Learn about Savannah's history, and its ghosts, on this 90-minute tour. The tour starts at the gates of the famous Colonial Park Cemetery, where you will meet your tour guide. From there, you will stroll through Savannah's streets and squares as you hear tales of famous area families, history and the area's most infamous ghosts. Tours begin at 7 9 p.m. each evening. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for guests 5 to 12. Tour times and admission prices are effective as of December 2009.
