For those with an interest in the macabre side of history, step aboard the Trolley at night for the Haunted Savannah Trolley Tour. The tour visits some of Savannah's noted haunted locales, such as the morgue tunnel that runs underneath the abandoned Candler Hospital. The 90- minute Haunted Savannah Trolley Tour is held nightly and starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights also have 9 p.m. tours. Guests may park their cars, for free, and board at Oglethorpe Trolley Tours Welcome Centers located at 215 West Boundary Street and 526 Turner Street. Park your car for free at the Car Barn Depot and purchase tickets at the Savannah Visitors Center located at 234 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. You also may park your car, also for free, and board the trolley at the 214 West Boundary Street Old Town Trolley Welcome Center. Old Town Trolley provides a daily shuttle service to and from hotels within Savannah's Historic District to the Car Barn Depot near the Visitors Center, which is stop number one. The Old Town Trolley day tour features more than 100 sights, such as the Cathedral of St. John and Waving Girl Statue. One notable stop is at Forsyth Park, the city's oldest and largest park. If you would like a tour of Savannah's dark side, take a ride on the Old Town Trolley's Ghosts and Gravestones Frightseeing Tour. Those brave enough will hear about Savannah's haunted history. Reservations are required for the Frightseeing Tour, which runs daily from 7 p.m. to 10:45 p.m., and departs from the East River Street stop. Lovers of Southern food are urged to take the Paula Deen tour. Paula Deen, a restaurateur and host of three shows on the Food Network, is Savannah's favorite lady. The Pirate's House is said to be haunted by Captain Flint, the very same captain mentioned in the Robert Louis Stevenson classic “Treasure Island.” The tours leave at 7 p.m. and lasts roughly three hours.
