A living coral reef lies in the waters not more than 100 meters from Fort Lauderdale's shoreline. The company stocks tandem, hybrid and road bikes and Trek mountain bikes for men and women, as well as bicycles for children. The storefront is located at the beach entrance to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, one of many places in the area well-suited to bicycle exploration.     • A number of companies in the area rent kayaks for exploring the numerous waterways in the area. One such provider, Atlantic Coast Kayak Company, rents single and double kayaks for experienced users, on an hourly basis, with a discount given for kayaks rented for four hours. Kayakers are free to explore the many rivers and canals in the region, which empty into the ocean. Less experienced kayakers can take lessons or participate in Atlantic's guided tours. Wildlife can be seen from kayaks, including osprey, sea turtles, herons and alligators, which kayakers are urged to avoid.
