This children's art museum seeks to give kids inspiring, interactive experiences. Best for ages 18 months to 13 years, the museum offers permanent and temporary exhibits, art classes, birthday parties and art camps. Permanent exhibits include the "Global Village," which allows students to make a passport, write stories, create music and art, and travel to the far corners of the earth.
The "Earthworks" exhibit gives children the chance to learn to recycle and make some paper of their own. In "Kenny's Closet," children are taken into the world of artist Kenny Scharf. They can use their imaginations to create their own works of art from various objects.
Boomers is the kind of place that will entertain the family for the entire day. Boomers is a one-stop attraction with something sure to please every kid. Thrill rides, go karts, mini-golf, bumper boats, bowling, laser tag, batting cages, a rock wall and game room are just some of the kid-friendly attractions at Boomers.
At the Museum of Discovery and Science, kids can spend the day exploring interactive exhibits. Sharks, bats, snakes and alligators are just some of the animals here Children can hang out in one of nine cockpit simulators to learn about the Everglades, and then head to "Runways to Rockets" to see the space exhibit.
Children younger than 7 have their own place to play at the Discovery Center. Another attraction at the museum is the IMAX theater. Current movies are listed on the museum's website. The museum is open 365 days a year.
At Billy Swamp Safari, kids can learn about the land, culture and history of the Seminole Indians. Located on the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation, Billy Swamp Safari has over 2,200 acres of everglades to be explored. Kids will be entertained by taking an air boat ride, walking the swamp trail, paddling a canoe or riding in a swamp buggy.
There are also special alligator, snake, critters, and birds of prey shows that you won't want to miss. There is a cafe and even rustic camping accommodations for more adventurous types.
