Located in the heart of Indiana the Children's Museum of Indianapolis offers five levels of fun and exploration for kids of all ages. From the Dinosphere and planetarium on the lower level to the ScienceWorks learning center and carousel on the fourth, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis is a popular destination for residents and visitors. It is open daily March through Labor Day and Tuesday to Sunday the rest of the year. On-site conveniences include free parking in the museum garage, a food court and a gift shop.

Squire Boone Caverns and Village is in southern Indiana and offers tours of the cave first discovered by Squire Boone and his brother, Daniel, in 1790. In the village, children can dip a candle in the candle shop, watch a lye soap-making demonstration, shop in the bakery and candy store, mine for gemstones and see Squire Boone's Grist Mill in action as the water-powered, 18-foot wheel grinds grain like it did two centuries ago.
