How did Hazlehurst Mississippi get its name?

The town of Hazlehurst, Mississippi, was established and incorporated in 1857. It was named in honor of George Hazlehurst, who worked for the New Orleans, Jackson, & Great Northern Railroad and was instrumental in establishing the town.
