Aer Lingus Luggage Weight Restrictions

Aer Lingus' luggage weight restrictions vary depending on the ticket class a passenger holds and whether they're on a short-haul flight between European nations or a long-haul flight across the Atlantic. Passengers aren't permitted to share or pool their baggage weight allowances.
  1. Carry-on Bags

    • Aer Lingus allows passengers to bring one carry-on bag weighing 22 lbs. or less on board. Any carry-on bag exceeding 22 lbs. will be checked-in and the passenger will be subject to a check-in fee.

    Checked Luggage on Short-haul Flights

    • Aer Lingus allows Best Fare and Flexifare ticket holders to check one or two bags respectively at no charge. The total weight of the free checked bags may not exceed 44 lbs. Low Fare ticket holders must pay for all checked bags.

    Checked Luggage on Long-haul Flights

    • Aer Lingus allows Low Fare and Flexifare passengers to check one or two bags respectively at no charge and bags can't weigh more than 50 lbs. Business class passengers have a three bag allowance, though no single bag may weigh over 70 lbs. and all three can weigh no more than 150 lbs. Aer Lingus subjects luggage exceeding their weight limits to a surcharge.
