US Airways Carry-on Luggage Restrictions

The rules for carry-on luggage are very important due to federal safety regulations. Having prohibited items in your carry-on could result in criminal prosecution and fines up to $10,000. US Airways and Trasnportation Security Adminstration (TSA) rules are valid as of October 2010 and are subject to change at the airline's or government's discretion.
  1. Size and Weight Limits

    • US Airways allows passengers to bring one carry-on item and one personal item, such as a purse, laptop or briefcase, free of charge. Bags cannot exceed 40 lbs. and measure more than 45 inches in length+breadth+width.

    Liquids

    • Liquids, aerosols and gels are permitted in carry-on bags but must meet federal regulations. All liquids, aerosols and gels must be in 3.2 oz. bottles and all bottles must be stored in a 1 quart-sized clear plastic zip-top bag. Each passenger is only permitted to bring one of these bags in his carry-on luggage.

    Prohibited Items

    • Firearms, explosives, various chemicals and sharp objects such as knives and scissors are all prohibited from carry-on bags.
