Aeromexico Luggage Rules

When traveling to Mexico, it is advisable to understand baggage regulations of the airlines that fly there. Aeromexico, the largest airline in Mexico, has its own specific regulations for carry-on and checked baggage that may differ from other airlines.
  1. Carry-Ons

    • Carry-on bags must not be longer than 45 inches.

Passengers are permitted only one carry-on bag that does not exceed 45 inches in length, and it must be able to be stowed under the seat or overhead compartment. Carry-on bags must be in the passenger's possession at all times. At any Aeromexico check-in desk, there are baggage-measuring resources to assist passengers, should there be any question as to whether or not a bag be allowed on board.

    Checked Bags

    • Checked bag maximums can vary depending on departure/arrival city.

On domestic inter-Mexico flights, the maximum weight allowed for each checked bags is 55 pounds. For international flights to or from the U.S., Central America or Peru, the maximum allowance is 50 pounds. International flights to or from Europe, Asia and South America allows for 70 pounds maximum per bag. As far as combined length, width and height, bags should not exceed 62 inches.

    Checking In

    • Arriving three hours prior to an international flight with checked bags is strongly advised.

Travelers flying internationally who need to check bags in must arrive three hours prior to the scheduled departure. For domestic inter-Mexico flights, travelers can check in as late as 60 minutes before scheduled departure, and 30 minutes if traveling only with a carry-on. Travelers who don't already have a boarding pass and have no bags to check must arrive 60 minutes in advance, except when departing from Mexico City, Cancun, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana, when 90 minutes is required.
