Delta Luggage Weight Restrictions

Delta Airlines has strict guidelines for carry-on and checked baggage. It is important to follow these conditions so that you prevent any additional stress at the airport and avoid any overweight luggage fees.
  1. Carry-on Baggage

    • You are allowed to take one personal item, such as a purse, and one bag that is no larger than 22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches and a maximum weight of 30 pounds.

    Checked Baggage

    • Your checked baggage must be smaller than 62 inches total combining height, length and width. Your bag can weigh a maximum of 50 pounds or it will be considered overweight.

    Overweight Baggage

    • Delta considers baggage to be overweight when it weighs more than 50 pounds. The airline charges an additional $90 each way for bags weighing up to 70 pounds and an additional $175 each way for bags up to 100 pounds. Delta will not allow bags to be checked that weigh over 100 pounds.
