You are allowed to take one personal item, such as a purse, and one bag that is no larger than 22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches and a maximum weight of 30 pounds.
Your checked baggage must be smaller than 62 inches total combining height, length and width. Your bag can weigh a maximum of 50 pounds or it will be considered overweight.
Delta considers baggage to be overweight when it weighs more than 50 pounds. The airline charges an additional $90 each way for bags weighing up to 70 pounds and an additional $175 each way for bags up to 100 pounds. Delta will not allow bags to be checked that weigh over 100 pounds.
