Swiss Air Baggage Restrictions

The baggage restrictions on Swiss International Airlines depend on whether you are flying First Class, Business Class or Economy, and from the U.S. and Canada, or from the rest of the world.
  1. Dimensions

    • If you are flying from the U.S. and Canada, South America or Cameroon, or if you have a Round-the-World Star Alliance ticket, baggage allowances are based on number of bags, dimensions and weight. Checked-in luggage must not exceed 62 linear inches. If you are traveling Swiss First, or Swiss Business, you are allowed two pieces of luggage weighing a maximum of 70 pounds each. If you are traveling Economy class, you are allowed two bags weighing 50 pounds each.

    Weight

    • Flights to, and from, the rest of the world are not subject to size restrictions, only weight. If you are flying Swiss First, you are only allowed one bag, weighing no more than 88 pounds, or, in Swiss Business, 66 pounds. Economy passengers are allowed one bag weighing up to 44 pounds.

    Carry-On and Infants

    • Carry-on hand luggage must weigh no more than 15 pounds, with dimensions no larger than 22 inches long, 18 inches wide and 10 inches deep, on all routes. Infants under 2 years old can have one checked-in bag, weighing a maximum of 22 pounds, and a folding pushchair. On flights to and from the U.S. and Canada, South America and round-the-world tickets, infants are allowed up to 50 pounds of checked-in luggage.
