The Euphrates River: A Transboundary Waterway Through Turkey, Syria, and Iraq

The Euphrates flows through three primary countries: Turkey (where it's called the Fırat and is the longest river), Syria, and Iraq. In Iraq, it merges with the Tigris to form the Shatt al-Arab waterway, which empties into the Persian Gulf.
