Ohio Getaways Where Pets Are Welcome

Pets are members of our families. When we take vacations or short get aways, we often take our whole family, including our pets. However, bringing pets along may be complicated, as accommodations may not be pet-friendly, or the activities at these destinations may not be conducive to bringing our pets along. However, many get-away locations are pet-friendly and offer you relaxing accommodations with a wide array of activities.
  1. Four Seasons Cabins - Hocking Hills, Ohio

    • According to the Four Seasons Cabin's website, these cabin rentals are ideal for vacations, romantic getaways, birders, hunting retreats, hikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts. Each cabin has two bedrooms, hot tubs and DirecTV. Pets are welcome to stay at $10 a day, as of 2011. While staying at the facility, you can visit Hocking Hills Orchard, located on the same grounds as the cabin. The orchard grows apples into distinct groups, including antique and unusual, red fleshed, russets, pippins, and cider, among others.

    Deer Run Manors - Rockbridge, Ohio

    • Deer Run Manors rent vacation properties to the public. Each property contains a hot tub, full kitchen and luxury furnishings. According to the Deer Run Manor's website, pets and children are welcome to join your during your stay. Located between Clear Creek to the north and Cantwell Cliffs to the south, you can visit one of many area attractions. Visit Cedar Falls, Old Man's Cave, go fishing at Lake Hope, go horseback riding, ride trains, go canoeing, bird watch, or shop at local antique stores.

    The White Oak Inn - Northeast, Ohio

    • Located in Amish Country of Northeast Ohio, the White Oak Inn considers itself a "pet friendly bed and breakfast." Although pets are not allowed in the Inn's rooms or cottages, they have separate accommodations in the facility's guest house. Pets can stay in the guest house at $25 per night. While staying at the Inn, you can visit many area attractions, including local tours. The Inn has several self-guided tours, including, "Eat Your Way Through Amish Country," and "The Wine and Cheese Trail." Additionally, Roscoe Village, featuring costumed craftspeople and shopkeepers who demonstrate 1830s crafts working, is a short drive from the Inn. Among other attractions, those looking for outdoor activities can canoe and fish along the Kokosing River, walk, ride or rollerblade along the Kokosing Gap Trail, or golf at one of nine area golf courses.

    Alpha House Bed & Breakfast

    • Located just nine miles east of Dayton, Ohio, the Alpha House Bed & Breakfast is located on the Creekside Trail. The 150-year-old, historical house welcomes pets, along with owners who bike, walk or in-line skate. The trail leads to Xenia, Springfield, Cincinnati, Dayton and Cedarville, Ohio. The house has three rooms a country room, a Victorian room and a Shaker room. Nearby attractions include the Blue Jacket Outdoor Drama, Wright Patterson Air Museum and the Dayton Museum of Art.
