How to Go Snorkeling on Anna Maria Island

The barrier island known as Anna Maria Island sits seven miles off the coast of Bradenton, Florida. The narrow island features seven miles of white sand beaches along the Gulf of Mexico side. The bay side has some beach, but mostly fishing piers. Other activities include scuba diving and snorkeling. If you want to snorkel in the waters off of Anna Maria Island, you can either rent snorkeling gear and explore on your own, rent a charter boat for a few hours or if you really love snorkeling, sign up for a multi-day snorkeling trip around the island.
