Camping on Anna Maria Island in Florida

Anna Maria Island is an island off the coast of Florida where visitors can enjoy three cities, miles of sandy beaches and numerous outdoor recreational activities. With such beautiful surroundings, it's a natural choice to want to camp while enjoying this slice of paradise. Though there aren't any traditional campgrounds on the island, there are two nearby RV parks and resorts that offer the outdoor accommodation experience.

  1. Holiday Cove RV Resort

    • This RV resort is right off of the highway that takes visitors from the mainland to the island. It's located in the small fishing town of Cortez; people who opt to stay here will be able to take advantage of the white sandy coast of Bradenton Beach only 3/4 mile away and an on-site marina. Santa Maria Island Community Center is approximately 7 miles away, and golf, shopping, eating, flea markets and fishing charters are within walking distance or just a short drive away.

The amenities of the facility will allow for a comfortable trip: With new fitness facilities, ADA restrooms, laundry facilities, a clubhouse with a plasma television and a pet-friendly approach, visitors are left with very little, if anything to want for.

    Sarasota Bay RV Park

    • This facility is located in Bradenton, just a short walk away from the waters of Sarasota Bay and provides a wonderful view of Anna Maria Island. Unlike Holiday Cove, this RV park has a strictly-enforced no pet policy. There is also an age requirement of 55 years or older. Visitors will be able to enjoy a heated pool, shuffleboard court and a recreation hall.

People who take vacations as an opportunity to make new friends will appreciate this park's organized events, held regularly. Everything from potluck dinners to Bible study to card games is organized so that visitors will always have an activity close at hand.
