Leprechauns Don't Live in America—They're Irish Folklore

Correction: The creature is a leprechaun (Irish: leipreachán), not "lepercon."

Leprechauns are solitary fairies of Irish folklore—cobblers who hide gold at rainbow's end. They do not reside in America and therefore do not eat anything there.

In Irish tales, they might drink poitín (potato moonshine) or milk, but their diet is never a focus. The "Lucky Charms" cereal mascot is a 1960s American marketing invention, not folklore.
