Bali Accommodations

Bali has a large assortment of hotels catering to the international tourist. There are numerous luxury properties, as well as smaller mid-size hotels. Bali also has an assortment of private villas for large groups or families who travel together. For the budget conscious, there are a variety of small, no-frills hotels.
  1. Types of Accommodations

    • Hotels come in a multitude of sizes and prices.

Budget hotels are small, clean and simple.

Mid-range hotels are often bungalow-style with a pool. Some also include a breakfast and private bathroom.

On the upper end, mid-range hotels also include TV, air conditioning and bars.

Resorts and luxury hotels are the top of the line in services and amenities. These luxury hotels have pools, sports, tours, restaurants, bars and lounges, beach fronts as well as the modern amenities found at all luxury chain resorts around the world.

Villas are another option, featuring kitchens, living rooms, private gardens and two or more bedrooms. Some have pools, beaches and staff.

    Prices

    • Spend as little or as much as you wish on accommodations. Resorts run about $500 or more per night. Spend about $10 for a budget room. Spend about $60 per night for a comfortable room in a small beach hotel. These hotels are on the south end of the island or among the rice fields. A villa runs about $500 to $4,000 a week, depending on the size and location. A 21 percent tax and services fee is attached to the price of the room. In budget locations, the price includes the fee. Resorts add it on as a separate charge.

    Best Time to Book

    • Book Bali travel between April and September. That is the dry season, and a vacationer will not be bothered with humid weather and rain. Peak season is during July, August and early September. During the peak season, prices are higher and good accommodations are harder to find.
