Who rules Hong Kong?

The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) is both the head of government of Hong Kong and chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government. The Chief Executive is also concurrently the president of the Executive Council and the commander-in-chief of the Hong Kong Garrison of the People's Liberation Army. The current Chief Executive is Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, who was elected on 26 March 2017.
