How did Burbank California get its name?
The city of Burbank, California, was named in honor of Dr. David Burbank, a prominent dentist and civic leader who moved to the area in 1867. Dr. Burbank was instrumental in the development of the city, serving as its first postmaster and helping to establish its first school and church. He was also a leading advocate for the construction of the Los Angeles-San Fernando Valley Railroad, which played a crucial role in the city's growth and development. In recognition of his contributions, the city was named after him in 1911, shortly after its incorporation.
