Where is Batam Island located?

Batam Island is located in the Riau Islands, Indonesia. It is about 20 km (12.5 mi) east of Singapore (separated by the Singapore Strait) and 40 km (25 mi) north of Tanjung Pinang. Batam Island is the largest city in the Riau Islands and also the largest free trade zone in Indonesia.
