Why the Gulf Stream current flow down into southern hemisphere?

The Gulf Stream does not flow into the Southern Hemisphere. It is a warm ocean current that originates in the Gulf of Mexico and flows northward along the coast of Florida and up the eastern coast of the United States. It then crosses the Atlantic Ocean and continues as the North Atlantic Current, which flows towards Europe.
