The Marianas Trench is located in the western Pacific Ocean, about 200 miles (320 kilometers) east of the Philippines. It is the deepest point on the Earth's surface, with a maximum depth of 36,201 feet (11,034 meters). The trench is about 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometers) long and about 43 miles (69 kilometers) wide.
