Stop at St. Andrew's Castle located in Fife. St. Andrew's Castle is more than 700 years old and was the birthplace of James III. The game of golf was established on the grounds of St. Andrew's Castle around the year 1457. James II banned golf in the same year because it interfered with his subjects' archery practice. Golf was re-established in 1568 by Mary Queen of Scots.
