As of 2020, there were an average of 0.5 deaths per year due to firearms incidents in England and Wales. According to the Office for National Statistics, there were 20,586 firearm incidents reported in England and Wales in 2020/21, of which 165 resulted in death. This represents a decrease in the number of firearm incidents in previous years, as in 2019/20 there were 30,706 incidents and 214 deaths.
