U.S. States with a City Named Jacksonville

There is only one U.S. state that has a city named Jacksonville:

Florida – Jacksonville is the largest city by land area in the contiguous U.S. and the seat of Duval County (consolidated city-county government). Population ~970,000 (2023).

Note: Several other states have towns named Jacksonville (e.g., Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia), but they are not incorporated cities—they're unincorporated communities, census-designated places, or tiny villages. The question specifies "city," which implies municipal incorporation; only Florida's Jacksonville meets that standard at scale.
