There Is No "Sweepstakes Notification Center" in Dallas—Or Anywhere
Scam Alert: This Does Not Exist
There is no official "Sweepstakes Notification Center" in Dallas, Texas, or any other US city.
How the Scam Works
- Mail/Call/Email: "You've won!" (often Publishers Clearing House, Reader's Digest, or fake names).
- Official-Sounding Name: "National Sweepstakes Notification Center," "Prize Award Center," "Dallas Notification Center."
- Demand: Pay "taxes," "processing fees," "insurance," "customs" via wire, gift cards, crypto before receiving prize.
- Threat: "Legal action," "forfeit prize" if not paid immediately.
Real Sweepstakes Rules (US)
- No purchase necessary.
- No fees to claim. Taxes paid to IRS *after* winning (Form 1099).
- Legitimate sponsors (PCH, state lotteries) notify winners in person (PCH Prize Patrol), certified mail, or verified phone—never demand money upfront.
- Centralized "notification centers" do not exist.
If You're Targeted
- STOP. Do not pay. Do not give personal/financial info.
- Verify independently: Contact sponsor directly (official website/number).
- Report: FTC (ReportFraud.ftc.gov), Texas AG, USPS Inspection Service (if mail), FBI IC3 (if online).
- Warn others.
Remember: You cannot win a sweepstakes you didn't enter. You never pay to receive a legitimate prize.
