Stretching over 1200 miles, Lake Cumberland is situated in southern Kentucky, dipping as far south as the state of Tennessee.     Somerset

    • Located west of the Daniel Boone National Forest, the small city of Somerset offers a quaint feeling and wide variety of land activities. Put friendly-family rivalries to the test by visiting Rocky Hollow Recreation Center and taking advantage of one of their multiple sports' fields. Basketball and tennis courts are offered on the property. Hikers will enjoy the vast trail system that wends its way through the vibrant forest. If soccer is your game, head over to the Somerset Family Fitness Center and take advantage of the its fields or hop in the public pool to cool off on a hot summer day.

    SomerSplash Water Park

    • Daredevils and water park enthusiasts will enjoy Somerset's 20-acre water park, SomerSplash. This family-friendly property offers several large slides, including inner-tube-friendly options. Whisk through the water, wending your way down slides in total darkness, or hop on an open slide and watch the blue sky overhead as you soar toward the pool. A man-made river circulates the park, and lounging tubes are available. Specific pools and areas cater to babies, toddlers and preschoolers. More than 30 water attractions are scattered throughout the park, as well as various food cafés.

    Landlubber Activities

    • Cumberland Lake boasts an interesting array of events, shows and activities at different locations throughout the year. Whether you love to stroll or enjoy gazing at artwork, photography, jewelry or pottery, various fairs with local and national artists in attendance offer items for viewing and sale. Pack a picnic dinner and lounge chairs and end your day by enjoying a free movie on the big screen. Check online calendars for dates and times and choose from both classic and modern film options.
