New Jersey Beaches Near Raceway Park

The Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, was first founded in 1965 as a few drag-racing strips. Now a full-blown racing park that spans over 500 acres, this park features motocross tracks and an airport as well as the drag-racing strips. Finish a day at the races with a day at a beach within 30 miles.
  1. Bayshore Waterfront

    • The beach at Bayshore Waterfront County Park is located just outside of North Middletown, which 19 miles northeast of Raceway Park via Highways 79 and 36. Not only does this beach offer swimming and sunbathing, but also fishing, boating, kayaking, picnicking, distant views of Manhattan's skyline and many natural wonders including protected tidal creeks and marshes. The Waterfront Park Activity Center, housed in a restored 1700s-era mansion, features scientific and historical exhibitions concerning the area. Admission is free and the park is open year round.

    Seven Presidents Park

    • Monmouth County's Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park is located 27 miles east of Raceway Park via Highway 18 and 36. Seven Presidents Park features a beach with lifeguards, a volleyball court, a skate park, protected sand dunes, a children's playground, concessions and restrooms. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from late May until early September. Activities include surfing, swimming, boating, fishing, sunbathing. Although pets are allowed in the park from November to May, they are never allowed on the beach. Admission to the park costs seven dollars per person, as well as a nominal parking fee.

    Allenhurst Beach

    • Allenhurst Beach is a public beach located about 28 miles east of Raceway Park on New Jersey Highway 18. This beach is open from late May through early September and offers limited parking and facilities. Lifeguards are on duty only during business hours during the season. Adults are required each to pay a nominal daily admission fee. Allenhurst Beach is also home to the local Allenhurst Boardwalk, which hosts Mister C's Beach Bistro and Allenhurst Beach Club. No grilling or flames are allowed at Allenhurst Beach.

    Ocean Grove

    • Ocean Grove in Neptune, New Jersey, features a beach about 29 miles southeast of Raceway Park via New Jersey Highway 18. Open from late May through early September, Ocean Grove welcomes beachgoers with charcoal grills (open fires are prohibited). The beach is handicap accessible, and lifeguards are available every day of the season. The Ocean Grove Boardwalk links Stella Marina Bar & Restaurant, Mayfair Boardwalk Grill, Ocean Grove Fishing Club to the beach. Library Square Park and the historical Silverball Museum Arcade are within walking distance of the beach.
