Beaches in New Jersey

New Jersey is known for its fun beaches and shore getaways. Starting with Point Pleasant and working down to Cape May, any shore-goer will not be disappointed.

  1. Point Pleasant

    • Home to Jenkinson's Boardwalk and Pavilion, Point Pleasant not only offers the beach, but also a great night life and an arcade for kids or the young at heart. It is located just south of Belmar off of Route 18 South. By mid-May beach badges are in effect. If you're planning to go onto the beach, it will cost about $30 a person for an all-day pass.

    Seaside Heights

    • Located just south of Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights offers a boardwalk and a strong nightlife. It is popular among high school students, especially during prom season which is the time to avoid hitting up this spot. After May 15th, beach badges are required and cost $35 for the day. In addition, surfing is allowed on the north end of the beach.

    Ortley Beach

    • Technically, an unincorporated expanse of Tom's River, Ortley Beach includes two pay-to-play beaches, a bay area and a surf club in the area. Motels and homes to rent are abundant in the area for a prolonged stay.

    Wildwood

    • Just off the coast of New Jersey lies the island of Wildwood with beautiful, expansive beaches and great shopping! More family-orientated and quiet, Wildwood offers a variety of options for any family.

    Cape May

    • Located on the southern most tip of New Jersey, Cape May is known for its bed and breakfasts. Holding a similar vibe as Wildwood, but still remaining its own, Cape May offers a variety of activities that are perfect for young couples and families.
