Fripp Island is home to two courses, totaling 36 holes of golf, and was named one of the top 20 Carolina golf resorts by "Links Magazine." The Ocean Point Golf Links, designed by George Cobb, is an oceanside course providing scenic views. The Ocean Creek course, designed by Davis Love III, is on the south end of the resort. On this course, golfers may catch a glimpse of island wildlife, such as deer, osprey and great blue heron. There is also a Wee Links course for children.
Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort has four swimming pools ranging from Olympic lap pools to family-friendly pools. There is a lagoon pool with caves and waterfalls and the children's pool has a frog slide and a frog sprinkler. Adults can relax in the adult pools or work on their tans while enjoying a beverage poolside. Guests and residents also have access to 3.5 miles of pristine beaches.
There is much to behold on Fripp Island, which is home to 175 species of birds. Turtles, alligators and porpoises can all be found around the island. Visitors can rent golf carts, mopeds and bicycles to explore. For those who would prefer to see the island from the water, the resort rents Carolina skiffs and kayaks and has twice daily pontoon boat tours.
For the tennis player on Fripp Island, the resort's Racquet Club has eight Fast Dry clay courts and two hard courts for guests and members to use. Tennis players can take lessons, participate in clinics and tournaments, including a clay court tournament, doubles and mixed doubles. The resort also organizes social events, such as mixers and cocktail parties, for tennis players.
From the Fripp Island marina, guests and residents can use charter services led by a charter guide for offshore and inshore fishing. Fish for mahi-mahi, barracuda, kingfish, marlin or wahoo offshore, and trout, flounder, cobia and tarpon inshore. The marina also organizes annual fishing tournaments in May, July and September. There is a kids' fishing tournament held in November.
