There are several amusement parks that are located in Hayden close to Hayden Lake. The Holiday Inn Express offers the Triple Fun Park and Raptor Reef Indoor Waterpark (3play.com). This park features water slides at the water park, mini golf, bowling, a climibing wall, lazer tag and a restaurant. The Silverwood Amusement Park (silverwoodthemepark.com) is also located near Hayden. This park features four rollercoasters, restaurants, shows, rides and an operating steam engine train. Silverwood also has its own water park called Boulder Beach Water Park.
Several golf courses are located in the Hayden Lake area for those who enjoy a good game of golf. The Avondale Golf Club (avondalegolfclub.com) is an 18-hole course that is located right on the shores of Hayden Lake and features the Water Hazard Bar & Grill and a pro shop. Not far away, golfers can also find the Hayden Lake Country Club (haydenlakecc.com). However, this golf course requires either a membership. A dining room, beach and marina are all part of the country club.
Visitors who are looking for a place to swim can visit Honeysuckle Beach, which offers an on-site lifeguard throughout the summer months. As of 2011, the beach is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A volleyball court, restrooms, concession stand and picnic areas can all be found at the beach. Finucane Park and City Park both offer playground equipment for younger kids, baseball fields, basketball courts, gazebos and plenty of green space for picnics and relaxation.
Visitors to Hayden Lake can partake in the many water sports that are available on the lake. Three different boat launches can be used to start a boating excursion on the lake or to go fishing. Sailboats and kayaks are available for rent; sailing lessons are available. Other outdoor activities include biking, hiking and horseback riding. During the winter months, visitors to the area can enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding in nearby Schweitzer Mountain, Silver Mountain and Mount Spokane.
