Atwood Lake, located in eastern Ohio, features several recreational and scenic opportunities. Fall road trips, water sports and other outdoor activities abound. The lake, managed by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, was constructed in the 1930's for flood reduction. It spans Tuscarawus and Carroll counties.
Atwood Lake Park has more than 500 campsites with full hookups, electrical service and primitive lots available for rentals daily, monthly and through the seven-month season. Or rent a cabin for two nights, for the week or during the off season. Swim at the sandy beach, watch the many sail and speed boats traverse the lake. Attend a program at the park's activity center or take part in the Alive Christian Music Festival held in June, or the Atwood Fall Festival held in October. The park has laundry facilities and a camp store.
