New York Friend Activities

New York is a state that has a wide variety of activities to offer. New York City is a place comprised of world-renowned attractions and a rich urban culture. The rest of the state also has an abundance of activities for friends to partake in, such as museums, zoos and skiing lodges. No matter where you live in the state, New York is full of activities for friends to do together.
  1. Coney Island

    • Coney Island has been a New York attraction since the 1860s and has been visited by both tourists and New York natives. Located in Brooklyn, Coney Island offers a wide variety of activities for friends to experience all day long. Some features include the Coney Island Museum, Coney Island Circus Sideshow, Mermaid Paradise and a number of film programs throughout the year. One of the main attractions, however, is the amusement area that includes over 50 rides and attractions.

    Bristol Mountain Winter Resort

    • During the fall and winter months, friends can ski or snowboard at Bristol Mountain Winter Resort. Bristol Mountain is located in the Western Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York in the town of Canandaigua. The resort features 138 acres of ski terrain with 34 slopes for both beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders. The resort also offers lessons and classes as well as dining services and lodging.

    Buffalo Zoo

    • The Buffalo Zoo can be a fun activity for friends that are animal lovers. The Buffalo Zoo is on the north end of the city and part of Delaware Park. It is the third oldest zoo in the United States and covers 23.5 acres of land. It is home to some of the most exotic and rare animals from all over the world including Siberian tigers, Egyptian spiny-tailed lizards and the Puerto Rican Crested Toad. The zoo also hosts a variety of free events throughout the year including Bear Awareness Day that raises awareness of how animals, especially bears, are affected by global climate change.

    Museum of Automobile History

    • The Museum of Automobile History is another New York activity for friends interested in cars, history or both. The museum is located in downtown Syracuse and conveniently just off Highway 690. The Museum of Automobile History is the largest of its kind in the world and features over 10,000 items displayed to show the history of the automobile over the past 200 years. Visitors can enjoy anything from vintage television advertisements and antique signs to racing memorabilia.
