Wilber Park contains Briggs swimming pool, a basketball court, the George Waddington tennis courts, handball courts, softball courts, a playground and picnic facilities. Other smaller parks in Oneonta include Huntington Park, Catella Park, Swart-Wilcox Historic Park, Susquehanna River Park, Maple Street Park, and Curtis Park.

Oneonta has many great indoor exhibits to explore. The National Soccer Hall of Fame is located in Oneonta and is a great draw for all soccer fans. This 40,000-square foot exhibit holds the national soccer archives, as well as a collection of more than 100,000 soccer artifacts.
The Joseph L. Popp Jr. Butterfly Conservatory is a 3,000-square-foot facility where you can observe not only butterflies from around the world, but tropical plants, lizards and frogs. Best of all these creatures roam where they please, giving the conservatory a natural feel.

Oneonta has several events that run throughout given seasons. In the summer, the farmer's market offers food as well as entertainment, while a summer music series takes place weekly in Neahwa Park. In the fall, the Mayor's Cup Soccer Tournament and Oneonta High School Alumni Weekend. In the winter, try snowshoeing or cross country skiing at the Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway, which runs next to the river (hike, bike or jog in the summer).
