Keystone, Colorado offers a variety of activities in to visitors during both the winter and summertime. It houses a variety of resorts and condominiums conveniently located near the slopes. Sports fans can engage in a vast array of sports from skiing to tubing in the winter and golfing and hiking in the summer.
Located in Summit County, Keystone offers 3,148 ski-able acres, 20 lifts and two gondolas at the foot of tow villages. Three main mountains surround the area: Dercum, North Peak and the Outback. According to the Keystone website, Dercum stands at 11,640 feet and was twice named one of Transworld Snowboarding's Top 10 Parks. North Peak rises at 11,60 feet and its peak houses the Outpost restaurant. The tallest mountain, the Outback, stands at 11,980 feet and houses some of Colorado's best tree skiing in the North and South Bowls.
Visitors in the Keystone area can experience a variety of winter sports, such as skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, dog sledding, sleigh rides, tubing and sledding, and spas and massages. The town also offers various summer activities such as golfing, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, and cultural activities.
People visiting the Keystone area have a wide variety of lodging options ranging from resorts to condominiums. Located between River Run Village and Lakeside Village, the Inn at Keystone offers rooms with hot tubs located at the top of the building. Every room includes a refrigerator. It is the only hotel in Keystone that offers pet friendly rooms with king or two queen beds. Pets are not allowed in suites.
Located in the center of Mountain Base Area, Slopeside Condominiums offer deluxe oversized units. The studios are near the lifts, ski school, child care and dining options. The Keystone Lodge and Spa offers access to a 10,000-square-foot spa, a sauna, ski storage, spa, a golf course, and on-site laundry.
A variety of events occur in the Keystone area at all times of the year. Ongoing winter events include the Friday Afternoon Ski Club, Family Movie Nights, Tuesday Dancin' in the Rockies and Family Fun Night.
During the Friday Afternoon Ski Club, the Friday night ski lifts run into the evening with live music. People who attend the Family Movie Nights can watch free family movies at the Warren Station in River Run. The Tuesday Dancin' in the Rockies event features dance series held at Keystone's River Run Village.
Ongoing summer events include the Kid's Discovery Day, the Dancin' in the Rockies Dance Series, the Friday Summer Concert Series and the Friday Night Comedy Series. During Kid's Discovery Day Tuesdays children can play, see magic shows, and see zoo animals at the Kids Discovery Center at River Run. The Dancin' in the Rockies Dance Series offers the same programming than during the winter and in the same place. During the Friday Summer Concert Series different artists and bands play at Warren Station in River Run Village.
