The Average Temperature in St. Maarten

St. Maarten, an island in the Caribbean visited by thousands of cruise ship tourists every week, has a fairly consistent, tropical climate. The rainfall varies only slightly throughout the year.

    • Visitors to St. Maarten can expect an average high around 82 degrees Fahrenheit during the coldest months of the year, January and February. During this time, the average low is around 72 degrees. In July and August, the warmest months, the average high temperature reaches about 87 degrees while the low is about 78.

    Rainfall

    • October is the rainiest month in St. Maarten. The island receives on average 4.4 inches during the month. February and March are the driest months, receiving about 1 1/2 inches of rain each.

    Appropriate Attire

    • St. Maarten is an island with a heavy population of tourists. The dress code is casual and shorts are acceptable in most places outside the finer dining establishments. The local population is modest, however, and swimwear is only appropriate on the beach.
